Esteemed members of the Turkish Community and dear visitors,

I assumed my duties on September 1st, 2021 as the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Manchester.

Much as our new Consulate is currently being established, historical data show that our diplomatic representation, in fact, dates well back to the Ottoman Empire in the 1840s, when there used to be a Consulate General in Manchester. Therefore, it would be safe to say, in that respect, that our Consulate General is “returning” to Manchester.

The catchment area of our 3rd Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in the UK, covers the following consular districts:

West Midlands

East Midlands

Yorkshire and the Humber

North East England

Northwest England

Wales

Isle of Man

Our utmost priority is to bring the establishment of our Consulate General to completion as soon as possible, and to provide our beloved nationals with the swift, friendly and quality service that you deserve. Your continued support and solidarity, which I have been grateful for since my arrival in Manchester, will encourage us all even further throughout this process.

Another important aspect of our mission in Manchester is to contribute to Turkish and British relations, through our contacts and activities wherein we will focus on exploring opportunities for commercial and cultural cooperation, working closely and consulting with the British authorities.

I hope to come together with you, our esteemed citizens, the very reason for our presence in Manchester during my tenure, and to support you to the best of our abilities. You are always more than welcome in our Consulate General.
