Distinguished Members of the Turkish Community and British Society,

Dear Visitors,

On 15 September 2025, I assumed my duties as the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Manchester.

Following my first overseas assignment in Kazakhstan, I had the privilege of serving our citizens in Belgium during my tenure at the Consulate General in Antwerp, and later in Romania as Consul General in Constanta. Most recently, I represented our country as Ambassador to Bucharest, where I worked closely with our citizens and successful entrepreneurs from the business community.

In my new tenure, I am honoured to serve our citizens in the United Kingdom. On this occasion, I extend my warmest greetings and respect to all our citizens, members of the Turkish Cypriot community, and kinspeople as well as esteemed members of British society within the consular district of the Consulate General.

As the third Turkish Consulate General in the United Kingdom, our consular district encompasses the West Midlands, East Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, North East England, North West England, Wales and the Isle of Man.

Barely three years into the inception of our Mission, all our consular services are already fully operational. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to our first Consul General, my esteemed colleague Mr. Seyfi Onur Sayın, for his efforts in successfully establishing our Mission. Together with my dedicated colleagues, who have served since its foundation, we will continue to enhance the services offered to our citizens and safeguard their rights and interests. In this regard, I wish to emphasise that the doors of our Consulate General are always open to you.

Another key aspect of our work in Manchester is supporting Türkiye–UK relations through engagement across our consular district. We will maintain close consultation with the British authorities while prioritizing the development of economic and commercial relations in Manchester—the world’s first industrial city—and across the wider region.

Manchester is also a city of universities. In line with the words of the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, “Science is the only true guide in life,” the young people entrusted with the future of our Republic will remain a particular focus of our efforts.

Promoting our culture in the region and strengthening ties of culture and art between Türkiye and the United Kingdom are also among our key objectives.
